Bio

Ms. Sierra Smith is a Senior Associate Health Scientist with Benchmark Risk Group. She completed her Master of Public Health in General Epidemiology with certificates in Risk Science and Human Health and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She also completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomolecular Science with a minor in Environmental Science. She is currently a member of the Society for Epidemiologic Research (SER) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).

Ms. Smith’s professional interests include occupational epidemiology, global health, environmental chemistry, and psychological well-being. She has worked with the International Center for Automotive Medicine (ICAM) in the Analytic Morphomics laboratory, where she analyzed 3D medical imagining data to inform vehicle design changes for automotive crash research. She has also conducted research on exposures within the built environment (e.g., noise, odor, and particulate matter) and the risk of psychological distress within Palestinian Arab communities in Israel. More recently, Ms. Smith has been involved in researching and assessing risk within occupational and consumer settings for a multitude of exposures, including asbestos, phthalates, particulate matter, lead, noise, respirable dust, and talc
