Bio

Dr. Andrew D. Monnot is a Principal Risk Scientist with over 15 years of experience in human health risk assessment, regulatory toxicology, and exposure science. He completed his PhD in Toxicology from Purdue University, where his research focused on metal transport mechanisms at brain barrier systems. As Amazon's inaugural toxicologist, Dr. Monnot developed and implemented materials safety and chemical risk assessment strategies for a global portfolio of consumer electronics and emerging technologies.

Dr. Monnot has extensive experience evaluating chemical exposures and assessing risks to consumers, workers, and communities exposed to a wide variety of substances including personal care product ingredients, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), metals, and others. His work encompasses human health risk assessment, with specialized expertise in dermal toxicology, biocompatibility assessment, reproductive and developmental toxicity evaluation, and carcinogenic hazard characterization. Dr. Monnot has presented scientific findings to both US and EU regulatory bodies on chemical safety matters and product investigations.
