Ms. Ashley Chang is an Associate Health Scientist with Benchmark Risk Group. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed her Master of Science specializing in Environmental Health Sciences from San Diego State University. Ms. Chang’s primary areas of training and expertise reside in risk assessment and toxicology.
During her graduate studies, Ms. Chang conducted research at an analytical chemistry laboratory at San Diego State University. During this experience, she identified and quantified environmental contaminants that leach out of littered post-consumption tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and conventional cigarettes, using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled to time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC/TOF-MS).
